The 7th International Workshop on Security of Mobile Applications (IWSMA 2018)
to be held in conjunction with the 13th International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security
(ARES 2018 –
http://www.ares-conference.eu
)
August 27 – August 30, 2017, Hamburg, Germany
Since the advent of Smartphones, mobile applications have been one of the most thriving areas in the last years. Thus, securing mobile applications, as well as protecting private user data, have to be considered as key research topics in the realm of security research. Furthermore, the topic of protecting sensitive data, both, intrinsic like location data, as well as data stored on the device, grows ever more important due to the targeted attacks made publically known during the last years. The International Workshop on Security of Mobile Applications (co-located with the ARES-conference) focuses on bringing together researchers from all over the world to share their experience and present recent research. In addition, with the constant introduction of mobile communication in offline environments, especially in the home/building automation community and within industrial environments (Industry 4.0), securing communication in such environments is another important topic of this Workshop. This also includes the research in the area of securing transportation systems, like cars and trains.
Topics of interest comprise but are not limited to:
- Mobile security/privacy policies
- Mobile protocols and protocol security
- Securing private data on Smartphones
- Integrating mobile devices into the Cloud
- Mobile operating systems
- Secure mobile software architecture
- Secure mobile application design
- Recent security issues on mobile systems
- Physical protection of mobile devices
- Security and privacy issues related to user behavior
- Novel security concepts for mobile devices and applications
- Ubiquitous digital interconnection
- Securing MANets
- Analysis of mobile apps and ecosystems
- Protection of location data
- Device loss detection
- Mobile ticketing
- Sensor communication
- Opportunistic networks
- Low-energy protocols
